A children's climbing wall will be much different than a wall for an adults. Tyke Tower (TM) Treadwalls are a brand of walls for children. The weight that they have to support is very light compared to a wall that supports an adult. A six year old does not have far to fall and a foam pad at the bottom can break the fall very easily. But that doesn't' mean a child can't get hurt. Landing on top of an arm or leg can twist it and result in a sprang or break that can take as long to heal as that of a bigger climber.

Consider the skill level of the climber before choosing a wall design. Some walls are for novices, and some are for the expert. Climbing a wall that matches the skill level will make the experience enjoyable. And remember that as with all sports. Gear should be taken care of; stored clean and dry when not in use.
